Xiinxala ergaa sirbootatapha gombisa fardaa keessatti sirbaman: Aanaa Jalduu irratti kan xiyyeeffate

Ragaaleen iddattoowwan Godina Shawaa Lixaa, Aanaa Jalduu keessaa Gandoota baadiyyaa sadi: Biicho, Koluu Galaaniifi Shukutee irraa jaarsolii sagaliifi dargaggoota sagal walitti namoota kudha saddeetirraa walitti qabameera. Malleen funaansa ragaaleen ittiin funaanaman kanneen akka: daawwannaa, afgaaffiifi marii garee xiyyeeffannoon hojiirra oolaniiru. Ragaaleen funaannaman kunis akkaataa kaayyoo qorannichaan erga qindaa’anii booda, mala akkamtaatiin ergaawwan sirboota gombisa fardaa gadfageenyaan xiinxalamaniiru. Argannoon qorannoo kanaa akka mul’isutti, sirboonni gombisa fardaa aanaa Jalduu keessatti sirbaman ergaawwan adda addaa akka qaban adda bahee jira. Ergaawwan sirboota kanneenis akka ifoomsanitti, abbootiin fardeenii gombisa fardaa taphatan yommuu qophiin tapha gombisa fardaatiif taasifamu, yemmuu gara dirree gombisni itti taphatamutti deemaniifi erga taphni gombisa fardaa xumuramee boodas nisirbu. Ergaawwan sirboota kanaas, gombisa fardaatiif akka qophaa’an,onnatan, ittiin waljajjabeessan, walabdatan, moo’icha agarsiisan, abbaa fardaa faarsan, jaalala farda isaaniitiif qaban ittiin ibsatan, dabeessa ittiin qeeqan, waljaalatan, tokkummaa godhatan, taphni gombisa fardaa taphatamu hawwataa ta’uuf, gammachuu argatan, bashannansiisan, aadaa hawaasaa barsiisan, eenyummaa ijaaraniifi dhalootni haaraan akka tapha gombisa fardaa taphaachuuf fedhii horataniif kan sirbaman ta’uu agarsiisa. Haata’umalee, jijjirama haala jireenya dhaloota haaraa kanneen akka: magaalaan babal’achuufi barnoota irraan kan ka’e, sirba gombisa fardaa sirbuun laafaa dhufeera. Kanaafuu, sirboota gombisa fardaa walitti qabuun, beekumsa gama ergaatiin jiru qorachuun bareeffamaan olkaa’uuf qorannoo kana adeemsisuun barbaachisaa ta’eera. ENGLISH ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to analyze the messages of horse songs in the Jeldu district of Oromo. Qualitative methodology was used with descriptive analysis approach. The study sample was selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data collection instruments, such as observation, interviews, and focus group discussions, were used to collect primary data. The data was gathered from eighteen individuals, consisting of nine elderly men and nine young people, from three rural kebeles—Bicho, Kolu Galan, and Shukute—within the Jeldu district, located in the West Shewa Zone. The collected data was organized according to the objective of the research, and the message of the horse songs with descriptive analysis approach. The findings of the analyzed data show that horse songs sung by horsemen in the Jeldu district have different messages. The messages of these songs indicate that horsemen sing while preparing for galloping, while going to the field where they play, and after the galloping is completed. The messages of these songs are used to prepare for galloping, to showcase strength, to express love, to create unity, to congratulate the winner, to criticize the losers, to recreate, to teach generation this culture and let them engage, and to find happiness in the game of horse galloping. However, due to lifestyle changes among the youth, such as urban development and increased educational pursuits, the singing of horse songs has become less in the area. Hence, there is a necessity to document these cultural horse songs and the meanings inherent within them in written form. Keywords: Folk Songs; Horse Galloping; Message, Oral Poetry; Thematic Analysis
