The study recodes survey responses into a binary variable (Satisfied vs Not Satisfied) and applies statistical tests to compare proportions across residence types. ## Data Source Data comes from the **Afrobarometer Round 9 survey**, which provides nationally representative public opinion data on democracy, governance, and development across African countries. ## Methods - Tool: **R programming language** for statistical computing and visualisation. - Approach: Frequency distributions, contingency tables, difference of proportions test, and two‑proportion z‑test with 90% confidence intervals. ## Results The findings show **no statistically significant difference** in satisfaction with democracy between urban and rural residents in Ghana. - Urban satisfaction: **51.7%** - Rural satisfaction: **51.0%** - Difference: **‑0.8% (p = 0.71)** This suggests that, despite structural inequalities, **citizens across geographic divides share similar democratic attitudes** in Ghana. **Please read this project** — it is part of my **Master of Arts in E‑Science** work, applying data science methods to political and development studies.
