A língua e a literatura núbia medieval: breve introdução e pesquisas recentes

International audience This chapter aims at presenting the most recent research on Old Nubian, the official language of the medieval kingdoms of Nobadia and Macuria in the Middle Ages. After a short introduction of Medieval Nubia, the paper focuses on the literary production of Old Nubian, laying emphasis on one literary genre, the so-called “apostolic memoir”, a genre that originally appeared in Coptic Egypt in late Antiquity. Recent literary, linguistic and philological investigations into this genre has unveiled very interesting processes of translation, reelaboration and oral performance of this Coptic genre into the context of the liturgical setting of the Medieval Nubian Church. Este capítulo objetiva apresentar as mais recentes pesquisas sobre Núbio Antigo, a língua oficial dos reinos da Nobácia e Macúria na Idade Média. Após uma breve introdução sobre a Núbia medieval, o artigo foca na produção literária em Núbio Antigo, enfatizando um gênero literário, a chamada “memória apostólica”, gênero que originalmente apareceu no Egito copta na Antiguidade tardia. Recentes investigações literárias, linguísticas e filológicas sobre este gênero desvelaram processos muito interessantes de tradução, reelaboração e performance oral deste gênero copta no contexto da configuração litúrgica da Igreja Núbia medieval.
