this study uses the open source spatially electrification tool (onset) to evaulute least_ cost pathways for achieving universal electricity access in Ethiopia Somale region by 2040. spacial data on population, demand, grid infrastructure and renewable resource are analyzed to compare grid extension, mini grid, and off grid systems. result show that while grid extension serves urban center, solar  based off grid solutions dominate rular electrification, supporting sustainable and cost effective regional planning.
