Municipal and district water tariffs for South Africa (2011, 2016, 2019 and 2022)

An overview of South African municipal residential water tariffs for the years 2011, 2016, 2019 and 2022. The former three are based on original data as published by the Department of Water and Sanitation, the latter year is extrapolated based on this data. The data is given for local municipalities (including metropolitan municipalities; n=213) and district municipalities (n=37) in two separate files. This dataset was created as part of a research project on spatial inequality in Water-Energy-Food (WEF) security in South Africa, the implications on public health and the impacts of climate change.
