Traduction Et Diversite Socio-Linguistique Au Nigeria: Strategies Et Perspectives

Abstract

This article examines the main translation policies implemented in Nigeria from the perspective of linguistic diversity. It focuses on the use of relay languages – namely English, the official language and certain national languages such as Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba – as intermediaries in intercommunity relations. It also examines local interlinguistic translation, standardization efforts and the specificities of specialized translation in education, law, health and the media. The research also examines the future development of translation in Nigeria through three main channels: professionalization of translators, development of language technologies (NLP) and adoption of inclusive language policies. Translation is thus presented not only as a linguistic vector, but also as a strategic driver of social justice, cultural inclusion and sustainable development.
